Hiram Green is a highly respected individual in the USF community, who has dedicated the past 45 years of his life to serving the students, staff, and alumni of the university. Throughout his extensive career, he has held several key positions, including assistant athletic director, associate director of the USF Alumni Association, and director of community engagement at USF Health. His dedication and hard work have earned him the recognition of being honored as the 2022 Unsung Hero by the Tampa Organization of Black Affairs.
Aside from his illustrious career, Green has been proactive in giving back to the community. He and his wife, Freida, established a scholarship fund to help students in need. Green is also the creator of a new scholarship, Set the Captive Free, which stems from his work serving on the board of Embracing Legacy. This scholarship aims to help underserved students afford the costs of college and set them free from college debt. He hopes to reach a fund of $25,000 and make it an endowed scholarship, which will benefit generations of students in the future.
As he looks to step into the commercial real estate industry, Green brings with him his extensive experience, strong community ties, and passion for helping others. He believes in forging his own path and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
